
Mark Cooper, clarinet, performs throughout the New York
metropolitan area and is a band director at an intermediate school in Brooklyn. He has
performed with the New World Symphony in Miami, the Village Light Opera Group of
Manhattan, Verissiomo Opera of New Jersey, New England Symphonic Ensemble, New York
Metamorphosis Orchestra, was the principal clarinetist in the Regina Opera and Brooklyn
Chamber Orchestra, and has traveled throughout the United States on a tour of
"Brigadoon." Mark received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in
Orchestral Performance at the Manhattan School of Music. His teachers have included Laurie
Friedman, David Weber, Peter Simenauer, and Leon Russianoff. Since
earning her Master's Degree from the New England Conservatory in 1989, Alisa
Herrington, bassoon, has performed internationally with ensembles including the
Boston Philharmonic, New England Philharmonic, Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Regina Opera
Company, Bronx Philharmonic, AIMS Institute, Rome Festival Orchestra and the Grand Teton
Orchestra. She has also served as a faculty member with the Siena Academy for Music and
Arts, New England Conservatory Extension Division and at Wilkes University where she
taught bassoon and chamber music. Ms. Herrington lives in Manhattan with her husband, also
a professional musician.
Mark
Snyder, oboe, began his musical studies at the Pennsylvania Governor's
School for the Arts and received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of
Connecticut and Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Currently, Mark
is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, studying with Matthew Sullivan, at the Mason
Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He has studied with Joseph Robinson,
Keisuke Wakao and Sandy Consiglio and has also attended the Penn's Woods Music Festival
and the C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival. Mark is a founding member of the award winning
chamber ensemble Pastiche, which made a successful Carnegie Hall debut in March 2000.
Active as a free lance artist, he has toured throughout the United States and Asia
performing with various orchestras as both a member of the oboe section and as a soloist.
His performances have included appearances with ensembles such as the New Jersey Pops
Orchestra, New England Symphonic Ensemble, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, the Island Lyric
Opera Orchestra, and the Bronx Chamber Orchestra. Mark is also on the faculty of the Children's Orchestra Society, Manhasset, the
Portledge School, Locust Valley and the Ridgewood Conservatory, Ridgewood, New Jersey.
French hornist
Tim McCarthy performs regularly throughout the New York metropolitan area
with such ensembles as the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, the Riverside Philharmonia, the
New England Symphonic Ensemble, The Encompass Music Theater, and Bronx Opera to name a
few. In addition to his orchestral performances, Mr. McCarthy is an active chamber
musician, appearing with numerous chamber ensembles. Also a recording and studio
musician, he can be heard on XENAKIS: Ensemble Music I (Mode records) with the STX
Xenakis Ensemble, on numerous recordings with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, and on Rabbit Songs, the
debut CD of HEM, a contemporary/pop band. He has also performed with Boston Lyric Opera,
Caramoor Opera Orchestra, New Haven Symphony, Boston Civic Symphony, New York
Metamorphosis Orchestra, and ALEA III Contemporary Music ensemble. Mr. McCarthy is a
graduate of Boston Universitys School for the Arts where he studied horn with
Richard Menaul, chamber music with Ralph Gomberg, and orchestral studies with The Empire
Brass Quintet, Sam Pilafian, Roger Voisin and members of the Boston Symphony
Orchestra. Currently, he is a faculty member of the Children's Orchestra Society in Manhasset,
New York.
Susan Deaver, flute, Director of Woodwind Studies and
Conductor of the C.W. Post Orchestra received her B.M., M.M. and D.M.A. from Manhattan
School of Music. Susan is the co-director of the C.W. Post Chamber Music Festival and a
member of the Pierrot Consort and she has been on the C.W. Post Music faculty since 1976
and is on the faculty of Manhattan School of Music's Preparatory Division. She has
performed throughout the United States and Europe in recitals, as a flute soloist with
symphony orchestras and in chamber music performances. She has appeared with numerous
orchestras including the Long Island Philharmonic, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Queens
Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Virtuosi and on Broadway in the "Phantom of the
Opera". She holds principal flute positions with the Washington Chamber Symphony at
the Kennedy Center and Musica Viva. Ms. Deaver has recorded for New World Records, CRI,
Arabesque Recordings and most recently recorded with the Philharmonia Virtuosi on a CD of
all Vivaldi concertos.
